Economy Class

Economy Light: hand luggage only, 0 hold bags. Economy Classic and Delight: 1 hold bag up to 23kg (50lb). Some long-haul routes give Classic/Delight passengers 2x23kg as standard - check route-specific allowance.

Premium Economy

2 hold bags up to 23kg (50lb) each (Premium fare).

Business Class

Virgin Atlantic does not operate a separate Business cabin - Upper Class is the premium cabin.

First Class

Upper Class: 2 hold bags up to 32kg (70lb) each - 64kg total, the most generous allowance in the fleet.

Cabin Baggage

Economy Class

1 cabin bag up to 56x36x23cm (22x14x9in) plus 1 underseat bag up to 40x30x15cm (16x12x6in), combined 10kg (22lb) limit for Economy and Premium Economy.

Business And First Class

Upper Class: 2 pieces, 16kg (35lb) combined, no single item over 12kg (26lb).

Special Items

Infants

1 piece of checked baggage (except Economy Light) plus a fully collapsible pushchair and car seat, checked free of charge.

Sports Equipment

Golf clubs, skis, snowboards, bicycles, surfboards and most sports equipment travel within the standard hold luggage allowance - no separate sports equipment fee. Exceeding the weight/size limit triggers the standard overweight/oversize fee, not a surcharge.
